
Sometimes motherhood is just a tough grind. Relentless even.
I went through a patch recently where everyday felt like Groundhog Day. The icing on the cake was the daily ritual of a 6 am wake up to the smell of Little Man (that’s right, smell) beside my bed and his little voice saying “poos”.
Honey, I love you immensely, but there are more cheery ways to begin the day.
So on days like that, morning distractions for Little Man are hugely important so I can fix a good, strong espresso and still drink it while it’s hot. It does wonders for the sanity.
Here’s some low cost ideas that I’ve found handy and I thought I’d share them with you too (seeing as my sewing mojo has gone on a vacation *sigh*). Things you can throw together in a moment of sheer desperation. You know, those moments where you just want to shut yourself in the bathroom and cry, but your toddler just continues to hound you incessantly outside the door … just in case you needed a little more help being pushed over the edge.
