Issue 2 of the online magazine “Hazed” is out now and I’m quite excited.
This little mag is the beginning of some big and beautiful things. With a focus on New Zealand small businesses, Hazel from “Hazel Loves Design” began Hazed in order to promote our burgeoning indie design community. I can just see this gem on the shelves right next to Peppermint and Mollie Makes some day.
What’s even more splendid is that Hazed is just the tip of the iceberg. There is a physical store in the pipelines for indie designers and crafters to sell their wares in an affordable manner while getting support and advice from experienced peers.
The indie community are unique in that there is no sense of competition like you’d find in other retail markets. We rally together, encourage each other and share resources. I think that’s a beautiful thing and Hazed is yet another expression of that community spirit.
I think we’ll be hearing a lot more from Hazel and her fledgling mag Hazed in the years ahead.
